چکیده

Embedded scalable platforms (ESP) are a novel generation of platform architectures that yield optimal energy-performance operations while supporting a diversity of embedded application workloads. A companion methodology combines full-system simulation, pre-designed HW/SW interface libraries, high-level synthesis and FPGA prototyping to enable an effective design-space exploration which is driven by the benchmarking of alternative ESP architectures through the execution of the actual software of the target workloads. As a result, ESP designers are guided in the choice and assembly of a heterogeneous set of programmable processors and hardware accelerators to balance regularity, flexibility, and specialization.

Issues in using heterogeneous HPC systems for embedded real time signal processing applications

Embedded signal processing systems have traditionally been built using custom VLSI to meet real-time requirements. This leads to limited programmability and restricted exibility. With recent technological advances in high performance computing, scalable systems based on heterogeneous \oo the shelf" modules are attractive as computing platforms in real-time embedded environments, leading to an e...

Scalable Core-Based Methodology and Synthesizable Core for Systematic Design

Abstract— The strong demand for complex and high performance embedded system-on-chip (SoC) requires quick turn around design methodology and high performance cores. Thus, there is a clear need for new methodologies supporting efficient and fast design of these systems on complex platforms implementing both hardware and software modules. In this paper, we describe a novel scalable core-based (SC...

A Dwarf-based Scalable Big Data Benchmarking Methodology

Different from the traditional benchmarking methodology that creates a new benchmark or proxy for every possible workload, this paper presents a scalable big data benchmarking methodology. Among a wide variety of big data analytics workloads, we identify eight big data dwarfs, each of which captures the common requirements of each class of unit of computation while being reasonably divorced fro...
